Feeling Stressed Out?

Put your mind at ease during this week’s Stress Reduction Workshop, which will take place this Friday, May 14 (7:00 p.m.), at the Tarzana Community and Cultural Center, located at 19130 Ventura Blvd, Tarzana, CA 91356. The workshop will be lead by Dina Gonar, C.Ht., Guided Imagery Facilitator, NLP Practitioner, she is the past President of the Hypnosis Union- no 472.

Just A Few Reminders...

We’re only a month away from Relay, so please be sure to read over these reminders carefully:

• The deadline for Sponsorship recognition is tomorrow, Wednesday, May 5th. If you receive any donations of $500 or over, or worth $1000, please let Rachel Orland know ASAP at sfvrelaychair@gmail.com or call her at 818-261-1323.

• Please pick your Relay day-of fundraiser by May 5th and email it to Rachel.

• Submit your Team Trailblazer Submissions to Rachel by May 5th.

• We will be meeting at the Sherman Oaks Fashion Square Food Court, tomorrow, May 5, at 7 p.m. to pass out flyers, get some exercise and take care of some last minute recruitment!

• Paint your town PURPLE! May is Relay Awareness month so you should be painting the town purple by putting flyers EVERYWHERE!

“Run/Walk for Life” with Walgreens!

Grab your friends and family and join Walgreens in the Valley for their 5K "Run/Walk for Life" on Sunday, May 2nd, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m at Lake Balboa Park (at Victory and Balboa Blvd.). The entry fee is $10.00 per participant and all funds will go to the San Fernando Chapter of Relay for Life. Registration will take place from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and participants should meet and sign up at the Balboa Blvd. entry point - parking is available at the lot on the left as you enter.

Who: Relay for Life of San Fernando Valley

What: March Madness Team Blitz! Recruit your friends, family, and colleagues to start a team for Relay For Life SFV. Whoever signs up the most teams or members before March 31st will win a fantastic prize along with spirit points!

What is Relay For Life?

Relay for Life of San Fernando Valley is a fun and unique 24-hour walkathon to increase cancer awareness while raising much-needed funds for the American Cancer Society's patient service programs, cancer research, advocacy and community education. Teams composed of 12 to 24 people formed by local businesses, community groups and friends & families will be raising funds before the event. At relay, team members take turns walking around the track, relay-style and enjoy fun activities and entertainment off the track.

Survivors are invited to join us as our honorary guests in the Survivors Lap, which begins Relay For Life. Cancer Survivor's strength and courage help the community see that cancer survivorship is real - that we are making progress in the battle against cancer.

Relay For Life of SFV will take place from Saturday, June 5 - 6, 2010 (Saturday, 9am to Sunday, 9am) at Birmingham High School.
